On Sunday, October 12, 2008, Grammy-winning singer k.d. lang headlined the third concert in our KCRW Sessions series at the Malibu Performing Arts Center. The Canadian artist is an unparalleled performer with an emotional depth and warmth that has attracted a substantial audience throughout her career. The event featured a live performance and interview with host Chris Douridas.

“k.d. has a long history here and I’ve been lucky enough to sit in the studio with her while she performs. I can tell you right now the audience will be absolutely floored. She is a powerhouse of a singer who exceeds at everything she does, from vintage country to smoky lounge pop,” said Douridas.

KCRW Sessions shows are stripped down to the essence of what we at KCRW see when an artist comes to perform in our studios, providing a unique behind-the-scenes perspective in an intimate environment.




MALIBU PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

The Malibu Performing Arts Center is a stunning state-of-the-art venue. Located just ten minutes north of Moonshadows and just blocks from the beach, the venue was built as a recording environment first and foremost and has incredible acoustics.
